BBQ Blog Survey

I do my best to provide interesting content here on The BBQ Blog, but every once in awhile I get the desire to reflect on the types of articles, pictures, series, projects, and information that I share about the wonderful world of BBQ.

In an attempt to better understand the folks that take time from their busy schedules to stop by and check in from time to time I'd like to propose a short survey to help me better provide the types of information you're looking for and to learn what you like to see more of (or maybe less of).

Just hit the comments link below and type in your responses if you would like to share your views/opinions.

1. How long have you been cooking barbecue?

2. How many times per month do you cook barbecuce?

3. What type of smoker do you use?

4. How many smokers to you own?

5. Do you compete in bbq contests?

6. Are you a member of a bbq sanctioning organization?

7. What is you most favorite thing about The BBQ Blog?

8. What is your least favorite thing about The BBQ Blog?

9. What topics would you like to see featured on The BBQ Blog?

10. Would you be interested in writing an article to be featured on the the blog?

1.) I don't know. 3-5 years?
2.) God. 0-5 depending on heat outside.
3.) Offset. Wish I had the smokey mountain though. Offsets are finicky and use a lot of wood.
4.) 1
5.) No, too much work.
6.) No, see #5.
7.) Info, info, info. I love Alton Brown too so that works well for me. :-)
8.) Too much competition stuff for me, but I still learn from it so it's all good.
9.) Um, lots of BBQ?
10.) I can but I'm not sure what I have to add that would be better than what some others have. They seem more experienced. I did live in KC for 6 of my 8 after college years and gleamed some knowledge from that, I think. But I still can't do brisket.

Jim,

You can order just about any kind of wood chunks you can think to use for barbecue cooking from Chigger Creeks in Syracuse, MO. They advertise in the KCBS Bullsheet from time to time. You can find them on the web at the following address: http://chiggercreekproducts.net/

Andy,

I'd love to feature an article about how you got started in bbq judging and some basic tips you would suggest for contest barbecue cooks to improve their entry boxes.
