Today I tested the E Z Legs & Wings chicken rack from Mr. Bar-B-Q. I give it an enthusiastic thumbs up. The rack is constructed of stainless steel and is well built.
I cooked the drumsticks at 275 degrees on my Weber Smokey Mountain (without the water pan) for 45 minutes. The drumsticks reached an internal temperature of 177 degrees when I pulled them off for a late supper.
The drumsticks were difficult to remove from the rack after cooking, but this could have been eliminated if I'd just followed the instructions and sprayed the rack with some type of cooking spray like Pam or Wesson.
That's a rather unique idea. I would guess that would also help reduce overall fat content too, since it drips off easier than laying sideways.
ReplyDeleteInstructions? why would you want to read something like that? You're a dude and cooking with fire! We don't need no stinkin' instructions!
I guess that's why my wife calls them the DE-structions because I usually nearly destroy it before I break down and read them.
ReplyDeleteWhats the difference in quality between a Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker and a Big Green Egg? I have heard a lot of great things about the Weber and am curious about the Egg. The Weber is better priced, the question is which is the better smoker and all around value for the money . Thanks, Emwardo
