You can spend years learning on your own by trial and error, or you can spend a few hundred dollars and take a short cut to higher scores. I personally know several competitors that were middle of the pack competition teams that leap-frogged to consistent top two or three finishes immediately after completing a bbq class.
I'm not a competition smoker but I am trying to talk my wife into spending $500 to take Mike Davis' class when he is in Lynchburg in July.
ReplyDeleteWe just took Ray Lampe's class (Dr. BBQ), and we're hoping to see some changes in placement this year. However, I wouldn't have wanted to take the class for anything but competition. It's really geared toward that only.
