I recently discovered a new bbq smoker manufacturer - Superior Smokers. I don't own one and haven't seen one up close, but based on research conducted via their website here's a run down of the basics:
insulated
vertical design
gravity feed charcoal chute
grease pan collector
heat deflector
D-ring tie downs
I believe Munchees Smokehouse uses one and is currently performing pretty well in FBA competitions.
Didn't they buy Stumps Smoker's old plant, plans, or something like that back when Stumps inked a deal with Viking Range company? I could be wrong but I think that was the case.
I don't know all the in's and out's of the Viking issue, but I was competing in FBA competitions when the Stumps protypes were being tested and the principals of Stumps and Superior cooperated in that testing effort. I moved to Michigan shortly after that and lost touch with what actually occurred, but I don't think it matters.
Competition is good. I think the introduction of Superior is going to make Stumps step up their game that much more. Both companies will likely benefit from the competition.
